Official Announcement from the band

Friends, Romans and Countrymen!!!

Many of you will be aware that The Blackmore Legacy were formed in 2014 following changes within the tribute band Rainbow Rising. However, in March 2015 we suffered the tragic loss of our singer and frontman Mark "Raggie" Slack which led to a period of uncertainty until we were very fortunate to find Wayne Dorman later that year.

Recently our current drummer, James Last, has announced his intention to leave the band as his life takes him o...n a different journey in Canada. We are pleased to announce that Mick Rice will be picking up the drum sticks for the future. Mick was one of the founding members of Rainbow Rising and, for this reason (among others) we have decided to revert the band name back to Rainbow Rising.

The Blackmore Legacy would like to send out our heartfelt appreciation to all of you for your support over the last two years and ask for your continued support. All Legacy events remain active and will be amended to reflect the name change. For all future updates please head over to the Rainbow Rising Facebook page at

The Blackmore Legacy Facebook page will be maintained and we will, of course continue to respond to messages and posts here. In time the website will be updated to reflect the change.

From me - it starts the end of a great journey and the beginning of a new venture. It's been an honour and a privilege to support the band with the website. I hope you enjoyed the work that went into maintaining this site as much as I did.
